The Department of Education
South Africa has organized a single national education system and carried out largely on the basis of nine provincial subsystems.
The Constitution has devolved considerable authority in the province of legislators and governments to the educational affairs (other than universities and technical institutes) submitted to manage a national policy framework.
In terms of the Constitution, the Ministry of Education responsible for matters that are regulated effectively by provincial legislation can, and also the problems that the standards and national standards must be coordinated. It must be the policy of the government to prepare for education and training for the whole country.
Relationships with the regional departments of education are guided by national policy, in which the provincial departments have their own priorities and application programs to be established. The department has the task of translating the education and training policy of the Government and the provisions of the Constitution in a national context to promote.
The National Institute provides active support to provincial departments to strengthen their administrative and professional capacity. Government cooperation is the theme of national and provincial relations.
Council of Education Ministers
This council, the Minister of Education, Deputy Minister of Education and nine provincial members of the Board of Executive Education, meets regularly to the national education policy, exchange information and discuss opinions on all aspects of education in Africa, South and coordinate issues of mutual interest.
