A huge Rs.2 430 million rupees will be invested in the second phase of improving the quality of technical education (TEQIP) in India. About 200 engineering schools will be selected on a competitive basis, to fill the huge gap between the demands for quality and training of ITI, among others.
The purpose of this improvisation technical schools is to improve the general level of education. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its approval to the next phase of training completion plan since 2003. ITI offers an unsurpassed quality of technical education in India and therefore efforts should be made for other engineering schools closer to the higher levels. With the support of the World Bank (Rs.1, 395.50 cr) Public or private institution (Rs.518.50 cr and Rs.16 cr). TEQIP also invest in mega-government project (Rs 500 cr post) in three phases.
The plan is the length of 10 to 12 years with a first phase completed in 2009, and covers 127 schools in 13 states. This project is open to all technical universities of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved. The Committee CCEA chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has recently approved the investment proposal for the second phase of the project.
The massive investment in improving the quality of education in India will certainly be made to strengthen the institutions that are in better learning outcomes and employment opportunities for graduates.
